Tatua is New Zealand’s oldest dairy co-operative, established in 1914 and based in Tatuanui, Waikato.
What began as a local group of farming families supplying milk and cheese has grown into a global specialist dairy business supplying customers across international markets.
Today, Tatua develops and manufactures high-value dairy ingredients and food products for food, nutrition and ingredient manufacturers worldwide. With strong technical capability, subsidiaries in key markets, disciplined manufacturing and long-term customer partnerships, we focus on delivering specialised dairy solutions that perform consistently and reliably.
As a farmer-owned co-operative, our governance structure connects farming shareholders directly to the business. This relationship underpins how we think: long term, practical and performance led.

Over a century of steady progress
For more than 100 years, Tatua has grown through deliberate investment in manufacturing capability, technical expertise and global partnerships. Our progress has been shaped by disciplined innovation and careful expansion rather than rapid scale.
From our Waikato operations, we supply products to global markets while maintaining close coordination between farm, factory and customer.
